As Indian airlines accelerate the entry of new aircraft and Gulf carriers engage on a hiring drive, Akasa’s rise will almost certainly trigger compensation hikes at other carriers to guarantee they have adequate pilots. This is a significant shift from the pandemic-era aviation squeeze, which witnessed global salary cuts and job losses.

The pay scale may be even higher if the experience and flight hours are more; the captain might make up to 7.75 lakh rupees per month, which is a rise of 6% above the present monthly salary of 7.28 lakh. Furthermore, in addition to the fixed 40 hours of flying, captains will be paid rupees 7,500 and first officers will be paid rupees 3,045 for every extra hour. As reported by citing sources.
