Netherlands and Austria to acquire nine Embraer C-390 Millennium
· Common fleet will allow both nations to cooperate and benefit from synergies in areas like training, logistics and future growth of the platform
· The Netherlands will receive five aircraft and Austria, four
The Dutch Ministry of Defense officially signed a contract today for the acquisition of nine Embraer C-390 Millennium aircraft during a ceremony at the Farnborough Airshow.
This contract is part of the “Replacement of Tactical Airlift Capacity” project and is a joint purchase in collaboration with Austria—five aircraft for the Royal Netherlands Air Force and four for the Austrian Air Force.
This joint acquisition aims to enhance the rapid deployment and evacuation capabilities of both countries, even in challenging operational conditions. The C-390 Millennium will significantly boost tactical airlift capacity, improving operational flexibility and responsiveness. It will also support a variety of logistical, humanitarian, and medical missions.

Furthermore, the joint purchase will facilitate cooperation between the Netherlands, Austria, and other current and future C-390 operators, particularly within NATO. This collaboration is expected to yield benefits in training, logistics, and future platform development.
The C-390 Millennium’s design emphasizes maximum operational readiness, ensuring interoperability and connectivity across networked environments and multiple operational domains.
The C-390 will improve operational capacity by offering better performance, greater reliability, and higher transport capacity. Additionally, the choice for the C-390 ensures that the Royal Dutch and Austrian Air Forces are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to meet the mission demands of the future.

The C-390 can carry more payload (26 tons) compared to other medium-sized military transport aircraft and flies faster (470 knots) and farther, being capable of performing a wide range of missions such as transporting and dropping cargo and troops, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian missions, operating on embraer c390 price temporary or unpaved runways.
The aircraft configured with air-to-air refueling equipment, with the designation KC-390, can operate both as a tanker and as a receiver, in this case also by receiving fuel from another KC-390 using pods installed under the wings.

China Eastern Receives Its Ninth C919 Aircraft, Marking a New Milestone
China Eastern Airlines (CEA) has reached a significant milestone with the delivery of its ninth COMAC C919 aircraft, continuing its lead as the launch customer for China’s domestic narrow-body airliner.

This delivery is part of a major achievement for COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China), which has now delivered a total of 10 comac c919 in 2024 alone, a remarkable increase from just three jets delivered by the end of 2023.
The C919 program represents China’s entry into the competitive market for commercial aircraft, aiming to rival the dominance of manufacturers like Airbus and Boeing in the narrow-body sector.

One standout feature of the c919 is its innovative in-flight technology, particularly its Wi-Fi system. Developed by the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC), this system allows passengers to connect to the “CEAIR-WIFI” wireless hotspot, providing seamless access to in-flight entertainment.
Through the website www.muflyer.com, travelers can enjoy a range of features including “Air Cinema” and “Air Games,” which enhance the flying experience.
Looking ahead, COMAC’s ambitions are not limited to narrow-body aircraft. At the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, c919 aircraft price made waves with the announcement of over 100 new aircraft orders.
A significant highlight was a high-profile agreement with Air China for the development of the C929, a widebody aircraft set to compete c919 vs a320 and c919 vs 737 with these models.
