Today marks the first day that Qantas will offer service between Melbourne and Exmouth. The new direct seasonal route will save Victorians who previously linked through Perth three hours of travel time.

From now through October, the national carrier will run two round-trip flights a week between Melbourne and Exmouth using Boeing 737 aircraft, offering more than 18,000 seats during the busiest travel period.

The five-hour direct trip, which will depart on a Sunday and a Thursday, will make it simple for tourists from the eastern shore to visit one of Australia’s most stunning and inaccessible regions, including the renowned Ningaloo Reef.
